New art exhibition by Fulbright Alumni Terri Warpinski at Bay College
Surface Tension

A new exhibition has opened at Bay College by Terri Warpinski, Fulbright Senior Scholar 2000 to the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies.

Surface Tension will be open till September 18, including an Artist Talk and a reception on September 3rd.

Professor Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, Fulbright Post-Doctoral Alumni 2001 to Harvard University, together with a group of researchers from Tel Aviv University, published a new article at Nature Nanotechnology magazine about a nano-vaccine for melanoma. Until now the vaccine has been proven effective in mice in preventing the development of melanoma and in treating primary tumors and metastases that result from the disease.

Alumnus Professor Yuval Feldman Receives 2019 Bruno Memorial Award
Professor Yuval Feldman

Israeli alumnus, Professor Yuval Feldman, has won the 2019 Bruno Memorial Award, presented by the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS) to scholars and scientists who display exceptional potential and whose achievements indicate future breakthroughs in their fields. The Mori Lazarof Professor of Legal Research at Bar-Ilan U.'s Law Faculty, Feldman was a Fulbright fellow at UC-Berkeley in '99. Read more on the IIAS site HERE.

Infants Expect Leaders to Right Wrongs, Study Finds
Dr. Maayan Stavans

Dr. Maayan Stavans, our '17 U.S. Postdoc fellow at Bar-Ilan U. in Psychology from the U. of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, has had her research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. According to her study findings, infants 17 months of age anticipate leaders—but not others—to step in when one member of their group wrongs another. Read the full article on HERE.

Bank Leumi Appoints Samer Haj-Yehia as New Chairman
Dr. Samer Haj- Yehia

Congratulations to Dr. Samer Haj- Yehia, our Fulbright Israel-Arab Scholarship Program (IASP) alumnus, on his appointment as the new Chairman of Bank Leumi, the first Arab-Israeli to hold this position. Dr. Haj-Yehia was a Fulbright- IASP fellow at MIT in economics in '96-'98 for his PhD studies. Read more in the JPost HERE.
