EducationUSA is a global network of over 400 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State.
EducationUSA advising centers actively promote US higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive and current information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.
Centers are staffed by professional advisers, many of whom have first-hand experience having studied in the United States themselves and/or have received State Department-approved training about US higher education and the advising process.
We strongly recommend that you read all the materials in this section regarding Education in the US (available under the online resources page.) Knowing the basic information in advance will help make your advising session more productive.
To make an appointment kindly contact Ralph Amelan At the American Center in Jerusalem via phone 02-5952680 or via email: Amelanrm@state.gov
For the Tel Aviv Refrence Library and purchasing study materials, please contact Mrs. Ahuva Bernfeld-Azil at 03-5172131 ext. 200 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Access to USIEF’s extensive collection of catalogs, reference books and data banks is available to all, free of charge.
After being accepted to a US university or college, you will also be invited to take part in our annual pre-departure orientation, organized by EducationUSA in June of every year. In the annual pre-departure event lecturers and a panel composed of an American student, an American professor and Israelis who have studied/are studying in the US speak on academic issues and on adjusting to living in the US (health services; financial services; housing; transportation, cultural adjustment, etc.).
